Winter Exhibition from Studio in a School
YOUNG PERSPECTIVES:
Art by Students from the 5 Boroughs
About
Studio in a School and The Fine Art Program and Collection at Montefiore Einstein are proud to present Young Perspectives: Art by Students from the 5 Boroughs. This exhibition showcases dynamic works of art created by students from across New York City. During the 2024-25 school year, the young student-artists participated in Studio in a School’s visual arts programs. Throughout the program, the student-artists learned to express themselves through in the language of art.
A special section of the exhibition, “Celebrating the Bronx,” displays a mural created by Bronx students that now permanently hangs in Montefiore’s Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Audiology.
Young Perspectives: Art by Students from the 5 Boroughs illustrates the progression of children’s artistic development from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade as they explore a range of art materials and subjects. This exhibition shows what is possible when students have access to high quality art instruction.
"Montefiore Einstein is happy to share that we are continuing our partnership with Studio in a School. Our two organizations have benefited from working with each other. Through the art that students have created, we and our patients are consistently reminded that art is more than just a visual medium, and that it can bring a smile to your face, inspire and aid in our patients' healing process."
— Jodi Moise, Director, The Fine Art Program and Collection at Montefiore Einstein
“A children’s hospital is only as strong as its partnerships and links to the community. On behalf of the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM), I am so pleased to be partnering with Studio in a School to promote and showcase the artwork from the children we serve. An important part of developing health and wellness for children is making sure a child’s creativity and imagination also grows and flourishes. We are so grateful to work with Studio in a School to deliver this holistic approach to care.”
