The Rehabilitation Medicine Practice at Burke

The Rehabilitation Medicine Practice at Burke, in coordination with the Fine Art
Program and Collection at Montefiore Health System, are glad to present this
collection of art that we hope will establish a healing and nurturing ambience for our patients and caregivers at our new medical practice. The use of fine art for health spaces is a program that helps to reduce stress and provide constructive distractions, all while staying aligned with our medical mission to heal, to teach, to discover, and to advance the health of the communities we serve. The art we are presenting here is meant to foster a life affirming surrounding while helping to create a positive therapeutic environment for our patients, their families, our trainees, our faculty, and the community at large.

We hope you will enjoy these distinct and unique pieces of art that were selected for their beauty, their calming influence, and their positive impact on creating the healing environment we wish to share with our patients and their caregivers.

“Variety of form and brilliancy of color in the object presented to patients are an actual means of recovery.”
